At Elicit, you can work from anywhere with significant time zone overlap with Pacific Time, and we aim to get together in person for about one week out of every six.
This happens through a mix of company retreats, coworking time in our Oakland office, and instances where tactical teams might get together to work things out in-person on separately.
If you don’t live in or near Oakland, most of the time you’ll work remotely. But we make sure you’ll still get in-person time with the team through:
For remote team members, this means working in-person with other Elicit coworkers roughly every other month.
At retreats, we keep it simple: travel days are part of the work week, and we plan the retreat agenda for the days in between based on the tone we want the retreat to strike. We typically focus these days on fun, collaborative activities that benefit the most from in-person interaction like strategic planning, collaborative problem-solving, creative brainstorming, and just generally enjoying one another’s company.
During coordinated coworking weeks, the vibe is different: these are earmarked on the calendar to make it easier for remote folks to coordinate visits and overlap with more teammates. During these weeks, you can expect higher-bandwidth work time, casual office interactions, and optional social activities after work. They’re flexible though — if other dates work better for you, plan around what fits your schedule to meet our general “1-in-6” guideline.
Outside of retreats and coworking weeks, use your time and location to the best possible effect.
We know remote work is great, and gives us the ability to work with many incredible people we otherwise wouldn’t get to work with. But getting together regularly helps us:
We want to be the rare company that is able to nail the best of both worlds, providing you with the focus and flexibility of remote work, and the speed, connection, and collaboration benefits of being together in person.
